The Role of the Municipal Attorney
The role the municipal attorney plays depends on the size and requirements of the particular community. As needed, Gluck & Allen provides some or all of the following services to municipalities it represents:
- Give legal advice and opinions to the governing body and to related boards, commissions and departments including police departments and boards of education.
- Draft resolutions, ordinances, deeds, contracts and other legal documents involving the municipality.
- Represent the municipality's interest in legal proceedings
- Examine the tax and assessment roles and other tax proceedings and advise the proper municipal officers on these matters.
- Attend governing body meetings and meetings of other boards and commissions, when requested.

- Prosecute cases involving ordinance violations.
